Top Snooker Players

top snooker playersThere are many great snooker players and some won’t be included on this list because the list would become too big, but I’ve come up with some of the best snooker players in the world for you to check out. All of these snooker players deserve to be on this list and I’d like to hear your opinions about who you think the best snooker players in the world are right now.

• Ronnie “The Rocket” O’Sullivan turned snooker pro at the young age of 16 in 1992 and since has become one of the best snooker players of all time. Ronnie has won a total of fifteen world ranking snooker events and holds the record for the five fastest 147’s ever. O’Sullivan also remains the youngest snooker player to ever win a world snooker event.

• Stephen “The Golden Boy” Hendry is one of the best snooker players of all-time and won many world ranking events throughout most of the 1990’s. He has a few ranking wins in the new millennium, but nothing of very recent. In total Stephen has won 35 ranking events in his entire career and hopefully will see more in the future.

• Ray Reardon is a retired snooker player who was one of the world’s best players. In 1976 snooker introduced world rankings and Ray was the very first #1 ranked snooker player in the world. Ray has four world ranking event titles, and many other wins before ranking events started.

• Mark J. Williams is a top snooker player right now and is someone to look out for every time he steps up to the snooker tables. He has had a wonderful career and his last ranking title win was in 2006. In total Williams has won sixteen ranking title events in his career which makes it one of the most decorated snooker players.

• Alex “Hurricane” Higgins may not be as decorated as the other snooker players on this list, but if you like watching exciting snooker action then you won’t find a better showman then Alex. Higgins managed to always do something unexpected in his matches and would always entertain the crowd, and I feel deserves a spot on my list.

• Cliff Thorburn is also retired now, but was an amazing Canadian snooker player when he competed in his days. He won 2 ranking events in the 80’s and 13 non-ranking events throughout the 70’s and 80’s. He won the World Cup with the Canadian snooker team in 1982 which is one of his big accomplishments.

• Ken Doherty has had a long and successful career as a snooker professional and continues to see success with his most recent win coming in 2008. Doherty won six ranking titles in his career as well as eleven other professional snooker event wins. He also won the World Amateur and World U-21 Championships back in his younger days.
